Urban Redevelopment Plan
Campello, Italy
Hand Drafting and Watercolor | Fall 2007
(completed in a team of myself and Ben Willis)
The mayor of the small Italian town of Campello asked us to help redevelop his city, which had spread out suburban homes and a weak urban center. In response, we compacted the city into several cores focused around major buildings and introduced more high density housing while trying to keep as many existing buildings as possible. In a large 18-person group we planned out the basic city shape and tackled each area in 2-person teams. Our plan also included changes to existing houses. The wrought iron gate detailed here was a simple solution to define the edge of the urban block but keep the existing houses.
